Baby Chakraborty :- The entire state and the country has been protesting against the unusual death of a young doctor at RG Kar Hospital. The agitators took to the streets demanding the removal of Police Commissioner Vineet Goyal. Now, a public interest case has been filed in Calcutta High Court seeking the removal of Vineet Goel.
The court also questioned the role of lawyers in the High Court’s public interest litigation against the state police commissioner. Commenting on this, the Chief Justice said “In the case of RG Kar, the lawyer of the state panel came to question. The principal, exerting influence, questioned the lawyer of the state on his behalf. Therefore, the lawyer of the state will give notice in the case of police commissioner”.
It is known that this case will be heard along with all other cases on September 18. A few days ago, Police Commissioner Vineet Goyal sought permission from the High Court for his removal for allegedly disobeying the Supreme Court’s order to the media and publishing the name of the victim. Also, the junior doctors have submitted a deputation to Lalbazar by carrying out a dharna program demanding the resignation of the Police Commissioner. The public interest case filed demanding the removal of the police commissioner is now being looked at by the agitating junior doctors.
