Baby Chakraborty: Kolkata:- The state has taken steps to reduce the complexity of teachers’ pension. In order to be included in the government retirement allowance, teachers have to serve for a minimum of 10 consecutive years. Now the state government has announced some relaxation in that rule. In this case, even if the working life is less than 9 years and 6 months, that is, less than ten years, the concerned teachers will be brought under the pension scheme under the authority of the Education Department. Education Minister Bratya Basu announced.
It is informed that from now on, if a teacher wants to be included in the pension before the completion of 10 years, his application will be considered and the post will be taken. Speaking from the event, Bratya said, “An important step has been taken on the directives of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for the benefit of school teachers. In order to be included in the government retirement allowance, the teachers had to serve for at least 10 consecutive years. But if a person has served for more than 9 years and 6 months, then the School Education Department has the power to grant him pension by condoning 6 months or less. In general, the school education department did not exercise this power until now.
In most cases, the teachers had to go to the High Court to seek justice and bring redress. Keeping this difficulty in mind, it has been decided by judging the human aspects, even if the working life of a teacher is less than 10 years, 9 years and 6 months consecutively, the school education department will approve the pension of eligible candidates by waiving this deficiency on the basis of application. They no longer have to run to the High Court.
