Baby Chakraborty: Hooghly:- Last Monday, a 45-year-old supervisor named Pappu Das was beaten to death in front of railway wagon and machinery factory Jupiter in Dunlop Sahaganj area of Chunchura under Hooghly district. As soon as the news was received, a large police force of Chandannagar Police Commissionerate and police officers of Chunchura Police Station and Bandel PP rushed in.
From there Pappu was rescued and taken to Bandel ESI Hospital where the doctors declared him dead. Bunty Das and Subarna Kumar Das, residents of Shyamsundar South Titagar and Molla Pota area were arrested by Chunchura Police Station on Tuesday and sent to Chunchura District Headquarters Court on Tuesday. Then they began to interrogate them. The police did not stop there and started combing search in different areas and during that search two more persons were arrested from Bandel area one of them Baban Singh and the other Biki Majhi. So far five people have been arrested in the supervisor’s murder case. The common people of Bandel area thanked the Chandannagar Police Commissionerate for arresting so many people quickly within 12 hours.
