Baby Chakraborty :- West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Sunday wrote a second letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressing her anger against the DVC. DVC often works without the consent of the state, he wrote to the Prime Minister in this regard.

The Chief Minister claimed in the letter that this year the flood situation has taken such a dire shape that it has not happened in Bengal in the last decade. In response to this letter, the Union Ministry of Water Power also sent a counter letter.The Chief Minister wrote a letter complaining about the floods on September 20, the Jal Shakti Mantra countered the letter saying that the DVC releases water from the reservoir with the consent of the state. But the Chief Minister of Bengal does not want to accept it at all. Chief Minister’s comments The statement made by the Jal Shakti Ministry is not correct. Sometimes the DVC releases water without taking the state’s consent.

The Damodar Valley Reservoir Control Committee manages Maithon and Panchet dams. West Bengal government also has representatives there. Central Water Commission and Ministry of Energy take all important decisions in this regard.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee mentioned in the letter that many times without listening to the requests of the state, this time DVC gave water and released water with just three and a half hours notice. Even the state disaster management department did not have enough time when the water was released. Even the chief minister, angry with the activities of DVC, has said to sever ties with DBC.
