Baby Chakraborty:- Carlos Cuadrat has resigned as the head coach of East Bengal Club.
East Bengal won the Super Cup last year after a long drought of 12 years under Kuadrat’s coaching. East Bengal beat Mohun Bagan in the Durand Cup group stage last year after a long run of eight derby losses under his coaching. East Bengal were runners-up in that competition that year, losing to Mohun Bagan.
This year East Bengal club and investor Emami spent huge money to form a beautiful team. Officials brought Indian star players like Jackson Singh, Anwar Ali to the team by spending about 6 crore rupees. Apart from them, stars like last year’s golden boot winner Diamantaks, Madhi Talal were signed in the Red Yellow team. Despite this, East Bengal played sloppy football and were defeated in the first three matches. After the last match home defeat to Goa FC, the patience of the fans broke and Kuadrat had to hear “go back” chants on the field. This is East Bengal’s worst performance since 2020-21.
The decision was taken after discussions between the Emami East Bengal board and the coach today. Before appointing a new coach, in the interim, the head coach’s duties have been handed over to Bino George.
Shri Bivas Aggarwal from Emami Group told reporters, “Carlos Cuadrat led the team to the Super Cup champion last year and Durande coached the team to the runner-up position. Under his coaching, we qualified for international competitions like the AFC Cup. We wish him a bright future on behalf of the club. doing.”
According to a source, former Bengaluru FC coach Simon Gration is going to take over as the head coach of East Bengal. Simon led the Bengaluru team to the finals of three competitions in the same season. However, no official announcement has been made in this regard yet.
