Success in high-yielding rice cultivation in Purba Medinipur

Baby Chakraborty:- Success in high-yielding rice cultivation has been achieved in Purba Medinipur district. Agricultural research institute Nujiveedu Seeds has said that the rice seed variety ‘Indrani’ NP 7061, developed in their research, will help meet the production deficit.

Statistics say that not only has rice production decreased in West Bengal, but overall agricultural production has decreased. Climate change has been blamed for this. To solve this problem, everyone is turning to high-yielding crops. Since this type of rice plant has high disease resistance, there is less risk of crop damage due to insect attacks.

They supply seeds to farmers according to different types of soil and climate. Plants grown from this type of seed have high disease resistance and the potential for high yields. Farmers in Krishnapur village of Potashpur in Purba Medinipur district have achieved good success in Indrani rice cultivation. Because even if the fields are submerged in the flood for several days, this plant does not suffer much damage. Since the length of the stem is quite large, it is also very convenient to harvest the rice. Moreover, the grains are also quite sturdy. To promote the success of farmers in this rice cultivation, celebrity mega shows were organized in Sarsa village of Birbarpur in Purba Medinipur and Krishnapur village of Patashpur. Comedian Maku and Bolpur artist Uttam Das Baul were present.

Uttam Das Baul sang a song about Indrani. At the event, comedian Maku explained to the farmers through jokes how this rice cultivation is profitable. The authorities hope that cultivating this rice will also improve the economic condition of the farmers quickly. Surprisingly, the tree does not fall until it is harvested. All the grains are of the same size and length. All the rice ripens at the same time, so it is easy to harvest and the yield is high.
