Baby Chakraborty:- An action planning meeting was held on Tuesday to review the flood situation in Birbhum district. The continuous heavy rains in the last few days have created a chaotic situation there. At this time, the Chief Minister of Bengal, Mamata Banerjee, rushed to the flood victims and visited the flooded villages of Bengal and arranged to deliver relief to the people there. This time the people of my state are swallowed by the coral of ‘man made flood’. Such tragic events are rare in Bengal. I have no purpose in life except to serve people. So today I attended a review meeting in Birbhum.
Water is receding slowly in various flood affected areas of Birbhum. Our mother-soil-people government is trying day and night to solve this problem. The administration is determined to help in every possible way. Everything from the house to the road will be rebuilt. On this day, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said, ‘The families of all the migrant workers who lost their lives, those who lost their lives due to floods and those who died without treatment, will be given Rs 2 lakh by the government. I am always by their side in their sorrows.’
He also added that I pray to Maa Jagajjanani, that everyone’s lives return to normal soon. May Bengal never have to see such a sad day again. May the people of my state be freed from all calamities and sufferings.
