Baby Chakraborty, Kolkata :- Police Commissioner Vineet Goyal disobeyed the order of the top court of the country and told the media the name of ‘Tilottama’. And a lawyer has approached the Calcutta High Court against the Police Commissioner by making that complaint. As a result, Vineet Goyal’s concern increased. The entire country including Bengal was in a frenzy over the rape and brutal murder of a junior doctor while on duty at RG Kar Hospital.
People have taken to the streets in droves to demand the punishment of the criminals in the RG Kar case. Also, the voice of democracy has become louder. Even the junior doctors who have been protesting since 2nd September. demanding the resignation of the police commissioner, not only that, but also the junior doctors have handed over his resignation to Vineet Goyal, the junior doctors who brought Tilottma’s name to the media has created a controversy.Whereas the Indian Penal Code and the Code of Justice clearly state that bringing the name and identity of the victim is a punishable offence. Amrita Pandey, the lawyer who filed the case in this regard, mentioned the name of the victim even after the Supreme Court order. Even though there is an order of the Supreme Court, the Commissioner of Police ignored it and gave the name to the media. Lawyer Amrita Pandey filed a lawsuit demanding the resignation of the Kolkata Police Commissioner.
The Chief Justice’s question on this matter is in the Supreme Court on Thursday. Why not tell there? For the time being, when the case is pending in the Supreme Court, the High Court will not hear the case. The High Court ordered to wait for some time.
