Baby Chakraborty: Kolkata:- Vineet Goel and Abhishek Gupta have been dropped as announced. Manoj Verma is the new Commissioner of Kolkata Police. He replaced Vineet Goel as the Commissioner of Kolkata Police. Meanwhile, Vineet was made ADG STF. Deepak Sarkar replaces Abhishek Gupta as DC North. Abhishek Gupta is posted as CO of EFR Second Battalion.
1998 batch IPS officer Manoj Verma. Earlier, he was ADG (Law and Order) in the state police. His new innings is going to start now. He is the new police commissioner of Kolkata. Not long ago a notification was issued in this regard from Navanna. On the other hand, Vineet Goel is being sent as ADG of Special Task Force. Gnanwant Singh is the new ADG of the Intelligence Bureau of the State Police. Javed Shamim, who was the ADG IB until now, is now the new ADG Law and Order of the state police. Besides him, Manoj Verma, who was ADG Law and Order, is the Commissioner of Police, Kolkata.
This 1998 batch IPS officer was earlier Police Commissioner of Barrackpore. Worked in Jangalmahal, Darjeeling. He has led the police in dealing with crisis at various times. There has been success of the government. IPS Manish Joshi has been removed from the post of Governor’s ADC. He took charge as Additional DC of Bidhannagar Division of Bidhannagar Police Commissionerate. And the post of ADC to Governor has been given to IPS Shanti Das. He was the Additional Superintendent of Police of the State Human Rights Commission.
