Baby Chakraborty: Delhi:- After the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi got membership in the Standing Committee on Defense in Parliament this time. Apart from this, Bollywood actress and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut has also got the responsibility. He has been made a member of Parliament’s Standing Committee on Information Technology. Samajwadi Party MP Jaya Bachchan and Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Maitra are in the same committee.
Rajya Sabha Secretariat issued a statement announcing the formation of these committees and their members. Of course, Rahul Gandhi has got an important post. He has been made a member of the Defense Committee. Rahul Gandhi was also a member of this committee earlier. BJP MP Radhamohan Singh will head the defense committee.
Apart from Rahul Gandhi, three other MPs have got seats in various parliamentary committees. Congress MP and former Foreign Minister Shashi Tharoor has been appointed as the head of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Parliament. Apart from this, the responsibilities of education, women and child welfare, youth and sports committees also fall on the shoulders of the Congress. Digvijay Singh will be at the top of this committee. However, seven-time MP and former Congress president Sonia Gandhi has not been placed in any committee. The name of veteran Trinamool MP Dola Sen has been announced as the chairperson of the standing committee.
Simultaneously, Burdwan-Durgapur MP and former national cricketer Keerti Azad has been appointed as the chairman of the parliamentary standing committee under the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers.
