Baby Chakraborty: West Medinipur:- A shocking incident took place in Argora area of Ward No. 2 of Ghatal Municipality. A child drowned in the flood waters. According to local sources, a five-year-old child drowned in the flood waters while taking a bath with his parents to attend a relative’s funeral on Monday morning.
It is also known that several locals prevented them from going to that stream. But when the little child went near the stream, avoiding his parents’ watch, he suddenly sank. When the parents immediately went to rescue him, they themselves were in danger. A special team of police and disaster management team reached the spot after getting information about the incident. After searching for about two hours with the help of local people, the child was finally rescued. However, when he was taken to the hospital, the doctor on duty declared the child dead. This tragic incident has cast a shadow of mourning in the area, and the locals are deeply saddened by this untimely death.
