Baby Chakraborty: Hooghly:- Chanditala Police Station of Hooghly District Rural Police conducted an operation against prohibited words before Sharad Utsav. About 4 quintals of illegal bets and betting materials were recovered. According to the police sources, all the recovered goods will be destroyed according to the legal procedure. On receiving information from confidential sources, the police of Chanditala police station raided the Khorasrai-Begumpur area of Chanditala police station. And a large amount of illegal bets and betting-making materials, necessary materials were recovered from there.
The seized items include 2 quintals of illegal betel, soda 75 kg, sulfur 60 kg, aluminum powder 25 kg, and gunpowder 15 kg. Officials said a total of 3.75 quintals of illegal bets and betting materials were seized. The police said that these goods will be destroyed according to the legal procedure on Tuesday.
