Every evening there is a huge crowd in the metros, on the one hand for Puja shopping and on the other hand for the students from the commuters returning to the office. Therefore, from now on, extra metro will run on Saturdays and Sundays to avoid the crowded traffic.
A statement has already been issued by Kolkata Metro. It has been said that 262 metros will run till Puja instead of 234 on Saturdays on September 14 and 21. On the other hand, 288 metros will run instead of 234 on the two Saturdays of September 28 and October 5. Also, on Sundays 15, 22, 29 September and 6 October, 196 metros will run instead of 130.
On Saturday, the first metro from Dum Dum will be available at 6:50 am. On the other hand, the first metro from Dakshineshwar will be available at 7 am. The last night metro from Dakshineshwar is available at 9:28 PM. On the other hand, the last metro from Kabi Subhash will be available at 9:40. Every Sunday the first metro will be available from Kabi Subhash at 9 am. The first metro leaves Dum Dum on Sundays at 9 am.
At night, the last metro from Kabi Subhash to Dakshineshwar will be available at 9:30 PM instead of 9:27 PM. Also, the last metro from Dakshineshwar to Kabi Subhash will be available at 9:28 PM. The last metro from Dum Dum to Kabi Subhash will be available at 9:40 PM. However, the metro schedule of Green Line-1, Green Line-2, Purple and Orange Line on Saturday and Sunday is not changing. This time, Kolkata Metro is working full speed to provide passenger services during Puja.
