
Baby Chakraborty :Kolkata:- Kanyashree’ ‘Rupshree’ project, a far-reaching thought of Hon’ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, has added a new feather to the crown of Bengal, said Hon’ble Minister Sobhandev Chattopadhyay with joy. Recently, Chamber of Commerce CII organized an event called ‘Impact East, 2024 Conclave’. UNICEF Chief Field Office Manjur Hossain was present. He recalled the brilliant role of Kanyashree and Rupashree projects in social development.Renowned personalities of the industry were present on the occasion.
Saurabh Roy on behalf of Tata Steel, Debashis Dutta of BG Samaddar and Sons, Prashant Kumar Hota of Jindal Steel etc. More than fifty voluntary organizations participated in the event. Several social projects of the state were also appreciated by UNICEF at the Maiden’s Day event a few days ago.Even UNICEF said that there is a need to spread self-reliance projects of girls like Kanyashree not only in India but all over the world.
Ariane de Wagat, representative of UNICEF, said on the trip, “Kanyashri project is playing a big role in empowering women. All the work UNICEF is doing on child nutrition, growth is more successful than before because of girls. This project is encouraging girls to get higher education. It is playing a big role in preventing child marriage.
” In fact, all the girls in the state, regardless of the poor and big people, are now Kanyashree! Mamata Banerjee launched this project in 2013. Which gets the title of best in UNESCO. Kanyashree is now an example to the whole country. The Kanyashree scheme has reduced the incidence of child marriage in the state.This is also proven.
