
Baby Chakraborty: Hooghly:- A patient committed suicide by jumping from the roof of Chandannagar Subdistrict Hospital. The deceased has been identified as Prakash Chandra Bain (43). According to police and local sources, Prakash, a driver by profession, was admitted to Chandannagar Hospital last Friday night with symptoms of abdominal pain and vomiting blood. Prakash, a resident of Murshidabad, had been living in Mahadanga Colony in Chandannagar for the past seven years.
According to the hospital authorities, Prakash suddenly became aggressive on Sunday midnight. He took a pair of scissors from the nurses’ table and tried to attack other patients and nurses. He entered the female medicine ward. He went through the nursing staff’s room, climbed the stairs and climbed to the roof. Then he suddenly jumped. No one dared to go near him because he was attacking indiscriminately with scissors in his hand. After falling, he was rescued and treated in the emergency department. After being admitted to the operation theater, he died at around 3 am. After receiving the news, the patient’s family reached the hospital and the body was handed over to the family. The patient’s family members have raised questions about the security of the hospital. After receiving the news, Hooghly District Chief Health Officer Mrigank Mauli Kar went to the hospital on Monday morning. He visited the scene with the hospital superintendent. The patient’s family said that there was no other man in the house, so there was no one at night. If someone left, we will not get him back. Hospital superintendent Santu Ghosh said, he was admitted three days ago. He was undergoing treatment. He was a chronic alcoholic. He became so aggressive without drinking alcohol. He escaped with scissors in his hand, scared the patients and climbed onto the roof. He jumped towards the back of the hospital.
