Baby Chakraborty :- ED summoned state prisons minister Chandranath Sinha on Wednesday in the education corruption case. He came to the ED office at CGO Complex around 10:30 am. Minister Chandranath Sinha’s name is among the more than 100 names in the diary of Kuntal Ghosh, who was arrested in the recruitment corruption case. However, ED had earlier searched the minister’s house and seized Tk 41 lakh in cash, a mobile phone, several bank documents and other documents. This is why the state prison minister was called to the ED office.
According to ED sources, the name of state minister Chandranath Sinhar has come up because of his involvement in the recruitment corruption probe. The mobile phone which was seized was locked till that day the mobile phone was unlocked. The ED officials are expecting to get a lot of information from that phone including several important documents, conversation records with various people, and WhatsApp chats. Sources will also try to find out what relationship Manik Bhattacharya and Partha Chattopadhyay had with minister Chandranath Sina.
He is also expected to be questioned on how he was linked to the recruitment day corruption case. It is also known that his statement will be recorded today. It may be mentioned that earlier in the recruitment corruption case, ED officials, SSC officials including former Education Minister Partha Chatterjee were arrested after interrogation.
