Bharatpur MLA Humayun Kabir wants Abhishek Banerjee as the state's full-time police minister

Baby Chakraborty: Kolkata: – The ruling leadership is the only one who can stop the criminal violence in the state. Earlier, several Trinamool leaders from Kolkata have accused the police of failure. This time, Bharatpur MLA Humayun Kabir is the only one. He wants Abhishek as the full-time police minister. His comment is that Mamata Banerjee will become the Chief Minister for the fourth time in 2026. Abhishek Banerjee should be made deputy with her. He has also advocated for Abhishek Banerjee as the police minister. He said, “If there is a full-time police minister, I think no crime will be committed without his attention.” His argument is, “Many times the CM is so busy, we cannot contact him even if we want to, we cannot submit our applications on time. If Abhishek Banerjee takes on a lot of responsibility, the people of Bengal will benefit a lot.”

During the RG tax scandal, the opposition demanded that the state needs a full-time health minister. Because the Chief Minister handles multiple departments. Today, Humayun Kabir again wanted a full-time police minister. According to political analysts, the same tone could be heard in his speech. He advocated giving the responsibility to Abhishek Banerjee, who will be brought in as a deputy.

The question arises, is Mamata Banerjee unable to handle law and order in the state as the police minister? Did Humayun support that demand of the opposition? Incidentally, when Yusuf Pathan was nominated as a candidate in the Lok Sabha elections, Humayun raised the issue by raising the outsider theory. At that time, Abhishek Banerjee called him to his Camac Street office for a long meeting. Then, accepting Abhishek’s message, he too campaigned for Yusuf.
