On the Ocassion of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav on 26th October,A panel discussion on the topic “AYURVEDA FOR POSHAN: CAMPAIGN AGAINST MALNUTRITION THROUGH AYURVEDA” was organized by the consulate General of India in Birgunj at Clarks Resort, Birgunj
Shri Nitesh Kumar(Consul General of India), welcomed the guests by highlighting the importance of celebrating Ayurveda Day and the role played by Ministry of AYUSH for the Same. He further assured that the Government of India to fight all forms of health menace including malnutrition.
The panel included Dr. Rakesh Kumar Singh, MD / Phd (Ayurveda), CEO of Brahmabhumi Health Center, Malangwa, Dr. Suchit Kumar Sharma, Deputy Secretary at Social Development Ministry, Province No-02, Dr.Shiv Narayan Prasad Gupta, MD (Ayurveda) and Chief of Office, District Ayurveda Health Center, Siraha, Dr. Prabhakar Manu, MD (Ayurveda), Dr. NandKishore Pd. Kushwaha, Chief of Office, District Ayurveda Health Center, Sarlahi and Dr. Umesh Prasad Sah, BAMS.
Md. Lal Babu Raut Gaddi(CM od state no 2)was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Distinguished guest Shri Jitendra Sonal, Leader of Opposition, State Assembly, Province No-02 also graced the event along with the other eminent personalities from different sections of society.
The panelists underlined the role of ‘Poshan’ (Nutrition) in Health and appraised that ayurveda gives special emphasis on “Ahaar” (Diet) and ‘Anna’ (Food) as means health, wellness and good life. They also elucidated various types of malnutrition and reasons therefore and further explained how Ayurveda could be helpful in eradicating malnutrition from India and Nepal in particular and from the world in general.
The Chief Minister of Province 2 assured commitment of his government for propagation of Ayurveda and promised to extend all possible assistance to Ayurveda practitioners in the coming days.
Shri Jitendra Sonal stressed upon creating awareness towards Ayurveda among the people and stressed that Governmetal efforts alone may not be sufficient and hence the civil society and practioners of Ayurveda have to join hands. The programme was conducted by Shri S. B. Kumar, Consul (ICS) and vote of thanks to the guests and participants was presented by Shri Shailendra Kumar, Consul(PCS).
